When I finally bought myself a laptop to do homework on (I didn't want one for quite a long time, just didn't have the need) about 3 months ago, I decided I'll put all my pictures there because of the enourmous disk space (500 GB). I was very satisfied with my laptop (Acer Timeline 13.3-inch screen with i3 processor and 4GB menory) as it is fast and it had withstood my everyday journeys from one location to another, including a few bumps and jumps on the road. Until.. One day I bragged about how my laptop wass working quite perfectly while others' laptops were failing. That was the last time my laptop worked well.. My course mate jinxed me as he told that static electricity in my bag may ruin my computer. The very same day, few hours later, my laptop refused to locate my hard drive as my friend wanted to use it. I immediately sent my computer to repairs, but after more than 2 weeks, when I got my laptop back, I found out that they had just replaced the hard drive and thrown away the old one although I had requested them not to do that and rather save as much data as possible.. Well, there's nothing I can do now. Fortunately, I had some backup CDs and DVDs and got up to 2000 pictures restored, but as I hadn't done a backup for a long time now.. I lost about 4000-5000 photographs, lots of music and some other documents I can't recall. Quite many years of saved memories, all of them gone.
Ignorance is bliss.
Happy
tabula rasa for me..
